Christmas Post 2012

Using the Scout Christmas Post

Stamps will be available during November and December for 25p each from designated selling points. In Purton these are In Touch Services (opposite the Parade), Best One and Shear Success, and at Toomers Garden Centre, in Lydiard Millicent

These locations will also have special Scout Post letterboxes - only use these, not Royal Mail boxes! If you post your cards in a Royal Mail box the recipient will have to pay a £1 surcharge.

About the scheme

Since 1981, Scouts across the UK have been licensed to deliver Christmas Cards as part of a Scout Post between the 25th November and 1st January. This helps to raise funds for Scout Groups all around Swindon and raises the profile of Scouts within the local community.

There will be regular sorting evenings at the Scout Centre, Milton Road, Swindon. After the final sort, we will receive the post to be distributed around Purton, which will need to be sorted into streets and delivered in time for Christmas.
